Lakeland Leisure Estates Triumphs at Crick Boat Show 2024 with 'Highgrove'
Crick Boat Show 2024 was a remarkable event, showcasing some of the finest inland boats the industry has to offer.
Among the dazzling array of vessels, one boat stood out and captured the hearts of both judges and visitors alike: 'Highgrove,' built by Kingsground Narrowboats for Lakeland Leisure Estates. It is with great pride that we announce that Highgrove was awarded the prestigious title of Favourite Boat in Show, a testament to her exquisite design and innovative features.
Introducing Highgrove: A Masterpiece by Kingsground Narrowboats
Debuting at the show, Highgrove is a breath-taking new masterpiece that seamlessly merges luxury with eco-conscious design.
Built in 2024, this 4-berth narrowboat has been crafted exclusively for Lakeland Leisure Estates, embodying a perfect blend of elegance and sustainability. Every detail of Highgrove speaks to the commitment of Kingsground Narrowboats to create a vessel that not only looks immaculate, but also respects the environment.
Sustainable Luxury: The Heart of Highgrove
Sustainability has been at the core of Highgrove's construction process.
The boat features locally sourced and repurposed materials, including beautiful walnut, ebony, copper, and quartz worktops. These materials not only enhance the boat's aesthetic appeal but also reduce her environmental footprint. The use of such high-quality, eco-friendly materials showcases a dedication to preserving nature while providing a luxurious experience on the water.
Design Inspired by Nature: A Tribute to Highgrove Gardens
Inspired by the ever-changing beauty of Highgrove Gardens, 'Highgrove' reflects a harmonious balance of nature’s palette.
The interior design brings the outside world into this private sanctuary, using rich leafy greens and muted earth tones to create a serene and inviting atmosphere. Every shade and texture has been carefully chosen to echo the tranquillity and beauty of the gardens, making Highgrove not just a boat, but a floating oasis.
A Show-Stopping Narrowboat: Why Highgrove Won Favourite Boat in Show
Highgrove captivated the judges and visitors at the Crick Boat Show with her unique blend of luxury, sustainability, and inspired design.
The boat’s impeccable craftsmanship, attention to detail, and commitment to eco-friendly practices set her apart from the competition. The award of Favourite Boat in Show is a well-deserved recognition of the hard work and vision that went into creating this stunning vessel.
Tiffany Gale-Haynes of Kingsground Narrowboats expressed her gratitude:
"Huge gratitude to Lakeland Leisure Estates, in particular the Morgan family & Anthony Jones. They allow us a huge amount of creative freedom in our work and that’s not always something that we get to enjoy on a customer-led build, because the customer makes all the decisions and we merely guide and piece their ideas together functionally and in an aesthetically pleasing way. Thank you to Sonia Jones of Roydon Marina Village for working with us along the journey, as ever you were a decisive and fast decision maker. Never leaving us in limbo, we knew what the plan was!"
Acknowledging the Team and Collaborators
The success of Highgrove is a result of the collaborative effort of many talented individuals and companies.
The boat's shell is from Colecraft, window liners from MD Wood Tech Ltd, and the Reflecks stove from Lockgate Stoves.
Timbmet provided the walnut and other timbers, while Brewers Paints, Epifanes Yacht Coatings, and International Yacht Paint supplied the paints and varnishes.
Whalin Upholstery was responsible for the blinds, dinette, and headboard upholstery, and CN Glass Ltd provided the mirrors in the bathroom and full-length wardrobe.
Kinver Canopies created the amazing canopies on the front and rear of the boat.
Vetus Global and Kingslock Chandlery supplied the bow thruster kit, and Tektanks Ltd provided the waste tank.
Wesley Marine Windows delivered the full set of thermal break windows, and Beta Marine supplied the engine
Special recognition goes to Henry Hurst, who meticulously finished every piece of timber in the craft, whether varnished or painted.
At Lakeland Leisure Estates, we are incredibly proud of what we have achieved with Highgrove in collaboration with Kingsground Narrowboats. This narrowboat sets a new standard for luxury and sustainability in the boating industry, and we believe it will inspire future boat designs. As Highgrove cruises into the future, we are confident she will continue to impress and delight all who have the pleasure of experiencing her for many years to come.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the entire team at Kingsground Narrowboats and everyone involved in bringing Highgrove to life. This achievement at the Crick Boat Show 2024 marks a significant milestone for us, and we look forward to many more years of innovative and sustainable boating excellence.
